– U.S. stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods , Financials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.

At the close in NYSE, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.97% to hit a new all time high, while the S&P 500 index gained 0.35%, and the NASDAQ Composite index added 0.15%.

The best performers of the session on the Dow Jones Industrial Average were Boeing Co (NYSE: BA ), which rose 4.10% or 5.88 points to trade at 149.29 at the close. Meanwhile, Nike Inc (NYSE: NKE ) added 3.06% or 2.30 points to end at 77.40 and American Express Company (NYSE: AXP ) was up 2.83% or 8.30 points to 301.30 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ: NVDA ), which fell 3.27% or 4.79 points to trade at 141.88 at the close. Unitedhealth Group (NYSE: UNH ) declined 1.12% or 6.71 points to end at 590.78 and Merck & Company Inc (NYSE: MRK ) was down 0.68% or 0.68 points to 99.18.

The top performers on the S&P 500 were Super Micro Computer Inc (NASDAQ: SMCI ) which rose 11.62% to 33.15, Copart Inc (NASDAQ: CPRT ) which was up 10.19% to settle at 62.70 and Moderna Inc (NASDAQ: MRNA ) which gained 7.48% to close at 41.11.

The worst performers were Intuit Inc (NASDAQ: INTU ) which was down 5.68% to 640.12 in late trade, Palo Alto Networks Inc (NASDAQ: PANW ) which lost 3.58% to settle at 383.46 and NetApp Inc (NASDAQ: NTAP ) which was down 3.43% to 122.34 at the close.

The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were Palladyne AI Corp (NASDAQ: PDYN ) which rose 130.00% to 4.60, Quantum Corporation (NASDAQ: QMCO ) which was up 127.11% to settle at 9.13 and Nano Labs Ltd ADR (NASDAQ: NA ) which gained 89.02% to close at 8.26.

The worst performers were Autonomix Medical Inc (NASDAQ: AMIX ) which was down 53.55% to 6.28 in late trade, Cemtrex Inc (NASDAQ: CETX ) which lost 41.59% to settle at 0.11 and Ensysce Biosciences Inc (NASDAQ: ENSC ) which was down 27.41% to 0.43 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the New York Stock Exchange by 2088 to 719 and 84 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 2301 rose and 988 declined, while 128 ended unchanged.

Shares in Copart Inc (NASDAQ: CPRT ) rose to all time highs; up 10.19% or 5.80 to 62.70. Shares in American Express Company (NYSE: AXP ) rose to all time highs; rising 2.83% or 8.30 to 301.30. Shares in Palladyne AI Corp (NASDAQ: PDYN ) rose to 52-week highs; up 130.00% or 2.60 to 4.60. Shares in Autonomix Medical Inc (NASDAQ: AMIX ) fell to all time lows; losing 53.55% or 7.24 to 6.28. Shares in Cemtrex Inc (NASDAQ: CETX ) fell to all time lows; down 41.59% or 0.08 to 0.11.

The CBOE Volatility Index , which measures the implied volatility of S&P 500 options, was down 9.54% to 15.26.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.36% or 36.30 to $2,711.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.67% or 1.17 to hit $71.27 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.25% or 0.93 to trade at $75.16 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.54% to 1.04, while USD/JPY rose 0.21% to 154.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.51% at 107.47.
