Finland stocks higher at close of trade; OMX Helsinki 25 up 0.57%

Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Utilities , Consumer Services and Financials sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 0.57%.

The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Fortum Oyj (HE: FORTUM ), which rose 2.36% or 0.33 points to trade at 14.34 at the close. Meanwhile, Metso Oyj (HE: METSO ) added 1.74% or 0.14 points to end at 8.30 and Nordea Bank Abp (HE: NDAFI ) was up 1.51% or 0.16 points to 10.73 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Orion Oyj B (HE: ORNBV ), which fell 0.64% or 0.29 points to trade at 45.08 at the close. Elisa Oyj (HE: ELISA ) declined 0.42% or 0.18 points to end at 43.18 and Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE: WRT1V ) was down 0.41% or 0.07 points to 16.99.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 101 to 71 and 18 ended unchanged.

Brent oil for February delivery was up 0.15% or 0.11 to $72.41 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.09% or 0.06 to hit $68.78 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.03% or 0.89 to trade at $2,665.69 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 106.14.
