Belgium stocks higher at close of trade; BEL 20 up 0.12%

Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials , Consumer Goods and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.12%.

The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore SA (EBR: UMI ), which rose 3.09% or 0.32 points to trade at 10.67 at the close. Meanwhile, UCB SA (EBR: UCB ) added 1.32% or 2.45 points to end at 188.40 and KBC Groep NV (EBR: KBC ) was up 1.02% or 0.70 points to 69.62 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Solvay SA (EBR: SOLB ), which fell 3.24% or 1.04 points to trade at 31.06 at the close. Melexis NV (EBR: MLXS ) declined 2.83% or 1.60 points to end at 54.85 and Elia (EBR: ELI ) was down 2.22% or 2.00 points to 88.00.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 46 to 44 and 18 ended unchanged.

Shares in UCB SA (EBR: UCB ) rose to all time highs; rising 1.32% or 2.45 to 188.40.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.45% or 11.99 to $2,670.49 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.88% or 1.96 to hit $70.06 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 2.59% or 1.86 to trade at $73.69 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.23% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 106.21.
