Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials , Healthcare and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.39%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.34%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Publicis Groupe SA (EPA: PUBP ), which rose 3.69% or 3.80 points to trade at 106.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Safran SA (EPA: SAF ) added 2.14% or 4.40 points to end at 210.30 and EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA: ESLX ) was up 2.07% or 4.70 points to 231.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Teleperformance SE (EPA: TEPRF ), which fell 2.71% or 2.44 points to trade at 87.64 at the close. TotalEnergies SE (EPA: TTEF ) declined 1.60% or 0.87 points to end at 53.48 and Orange SA (EPA: ORAN ) was down 1.59% or 0.15 points to 9.55.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Publicis Groupe SA (EPA: PUBP ) which rose 3.69% to 106.80, Bureau Veritas SA (EPA: BVI ) which was up 2.83% to settle at 30.52 and Fnac Darty SA (EPA: FNAC ) which gained 2.28% to close at 29.20.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA: ATOS ) which was unchanged 22.73% to 0.00 in late trade, Valneva (EPA: VLS ) which lost 3.67% to settle at 1.87 and Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA: UBIP ) which was down 3.64% to 12.71 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 249 to 245 and 92 ended unchanged.
Shares in TotalEnergies SE (EPA: TTEF ) fell to 52-week lows; losing 1.60% or 0.87 to 53.48. Shares in Atos SE (EPA: ATOS ) unchanged to all time lows; unchanged 22.73% or 0.00 to 0.00.
The CAC 40 VIX , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.41% or 38.31 to $2,756.71 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.07% or 1.42 to hit $70.01 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.61% or 1.16 to trade at $73.35 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.15% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.82.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 106.21.
