Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Fixed Line Telecommunications , Electrical and Mining sectors led shares lower.

At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 declined 0.01%.

The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC (LON: RR ), which rose 1.96% or 11.20 points to trade at 583.80 at the close. Meanwhile, 3I Group PLC (LON: III ) added 1.40% or 51.00 points to end at 3,697.00 and Halma PLC (LON: HLMA ) was up 1.39% or 38.00 points to 2,771.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Entain PLC (LON: ENT ), which fell 6.28% or 51.20 points to trade at 763.80 at the close. Centrica PLC (LON: CNA ) declined 3.66% or 4.80 points to end at 126.35 and ConvaTec Group PLC (LON: CTEC ) was down 3.07% or 7.20 points to 227.60.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1112 to 649 and 663 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.21% or 5.71 to $2,670.09 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.63% or 1.16 to hit $70.13 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.97% or 0.72 to trade at $73.77 a barrel.

GBP/USD was up 0.58% to 1.27, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.46% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 106.54.
