Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 0.30%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Transportation & Logistics , Construction and Utilities sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.30%, while the MDAX index declined 0.91%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.53%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR: DTGGe ), which rose 2.39% or 0.87 points to trade at 37.27 at the close. Meanwhile, Siemens AG Class N (ETR: SIEGn ) added 1.37% or 2.60 points to end at 192.92 and Porsche Automobil Holding SE (ETR: PSHG_p ) was up 1.33% or 0.47 points to 35.69 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Brenntag AG (ETR: BNRGn ), which fell 3.80% or 2.30 points to trade at 58.16 at the close. E.ON SE (ETR: EONGn ) declined 3.21% or 0.38 points to end at 11.32 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR: SATG_p ) was down 2.90% or 6.50 points to 217.30.

The top performers on the MDAX were Jenoptik AG (ETR: JENGn ) which rose 3.90% to 22.38, Hypoport AG (ETR: HYQGn ) which was up 2.10% to settle at 170.50 and SCHOTT Pharma AG & Co KgaA (ETR: 1SXP ) which gained 0.93% to close at 23.90.

The worst performers were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR: LHAG ) which was down 3.31% to 6.44 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR: NDXG ) which lost 3.15% to settle at 11.06 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR: HAGG ) which was down 2.55% to 33.62 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Jenoptik AG (ETR: JENGn ) which rose 3.90% to 22.38, Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR: ELGG ) which was up 3.27% to settle at 69.50 and SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR: SMHNn ) which gained 2.87% to close at 50.10.

The worst performers were 11 AG (ETR: 1U1 ) which was down 3.64% to 11.64 in late trade, Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR: EUZG ) which lost 3.18% to settle at 44.52 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR: NDXG ) which was down 3.15% to 11.06 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 457 to 173 and 29 ended unchanged.

Shares in E.ON SE (ETR: EONGn ) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.21% or 0.38 to 11.32.

The DAX volatility index , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 4.92% to 13.78.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.55% or 14.79 to $2,655.21 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.15% or 1.52 to hit $69.19 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.49% or 1.10 to trade at $72.81 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.30% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 106.49.
