France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.12%

Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare , Consumer Goods and Technology sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.12%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.05%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Sanofi SA (EPA: SASY ), which rose 3.29% or 2.92 points to trade at 91.74 at the close. Meanwhile, Hermes International SCA (EPA: HRMS ) added 1.50% or 34.00 points to end at 2,303.00 and L’Oreal SA (EPA: OREP ) was up 0.95% or 3.25 points to 344.85 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Vivendi SA (EPA: VIV ), which fell 3.87% or 0.10 points to trade at 2.51 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS: MT ) declined 2.96% or 0.70 points to end at 22.91 and Teleperformance SE (EPA: TEPRF ) was down 2.22% or 1.82 points to 80.08.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Sanofi SA (EPA: SASY ) which rose 3.29% to 91.74, Vallourec (EPA: VLLP ) which was up 2.39% to settle at 16.74 and BIC (EPA: BICP ) which gained 1.94% to close at 63.10.

The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA: ATOS ) which was unchanged 11.11% to 0.00 in late trade, Clariane SE (EPA: CLARI ) which lost 9.64% to settle at 1.79 and Emeis SA (EPA: EMEIS ) which was down 6.09% to 4.79 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 285 to 207 and 87 ended unchanged.

Shares in Teleperformance SE (EPA: TEPRF ) fell to 5-year lows; falling 2.22% or 1.82 to 80.08. Shares in Atos SE (EPA: ATOS ) unchanged to all time lows; unchanged 11.11% or 0.00 to 0.00. Shares in Emeis SA (EPA: EMEIS ) fell to all time lows; losing 6.09% or 0.31 to 4.79.

The CAC 40 VIX , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.57% or 15.09 to $2,654.91 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.14% or 1.51 to hit $69.20 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.46% or 1.08 to trade at $72.83 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.30% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 106.50.
