Belgium stocks lower at close of trade; BEL 20 down 0.64%

Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Services , Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.64%.

The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Syensqo SA (EBR: SYENS ), which rose 0.25% or 0.18 points to trade at 72.61 at the close. Meanwhile, UCB SA (EBR: UCB ) added 0.22% or 0.40 points to end at 185.90 and Melexis NV (EBR: MLXS ) was up 0.09% or 0.05 points to 57.65 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Azelis Corporate Services NV (EBR: AZE ), which fell 3.20% or 0.62 points to trade at 18.75 at the close. Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR: ABI ) declined 2.00% or 1.01 points to end at 49.57 and Umicore SA (EBR: UMI ) was down 1.92% or 0.20 points to 9.97.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 72 to 26 and 10 ended unchanged.

Shares in Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR: ABI ) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.00% or 1.01 to 49.57.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.58% or 15.56 to $2,654.44 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.18% or 1.54 to hit $69.17 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.49% or 1.10 to trade at $72.81 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.31% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 106.51.
