Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Services , Technology and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI fell 0.28% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI: CTT ), which rose 2.97% or 0.14 points to trade at 4.68 at the close. Meanwhile, Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI: MOTA ) added 2.20% or 0.06 points to end at 2.79 and Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI: BCP ) was up 1.39% or 0.01 points to 0.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI: JMT ), which fell 1.83% or 0.34 points to trade at 18.19 at the close. Altri SGPS SA (ELI: ALSS ) declined 1.35% or 0.07 points to end at 5.12 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI: EDP ) was down 1.22% or 0.04 points to 3.16.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 16 to 12 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI: EDP ) fell to 3-years lows; losing 1.22% or 0.04 to 3.16.
Brent oil for February delivery was up 1.00% or 0.73 to $73.92 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.60% or 0.42 to hit $70.50 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.37% or 9.90 to trade at $2,652.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.14% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.82.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 106.85.
