Netherlands stocks higher at close of trade; AEX up 0.34%

Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology , Healthcare and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.34%.

The best performers of the session on the AEX were ASM International NV (AS: ASMI ), which rose 4.60% or 25.40 points to trade at 577.00 at the close. Meanwhile, BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS: BESI ) added 2.37% or 3.05 points to end at 131.55 and ASML Holding NV (AS: ASML ) was up 1.98% or 13.90 points to 717.30 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Akzo Nobel NV (AS: AKZO ), which fell 1.34% or 0.76 points to trade at 56.12 at the close. Prosus (AS: PRX ) declined 1.07% or 0.43 points to end at 39.92 and DSM Firmenich AG (AS: DSFIR ) was down 1.03% or 1.03 points to 99.02.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 51 to 49 and 13 ended unchanged.

The AEX Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.

Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.63% or 0.44 to $70.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.01% or 0.74 to hit $73.93 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.39% or 10.29 to trade at $2,651.71 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.15% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.82.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 106.86.
