Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology , Chemicals and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.22%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were STMicroelectronics (BIT: STMMI ), which rose 2.53% or 0.62 points to trade at 25.11 at the close. Meanwhile, Bper Banca SpA (BIT: EMII ) added 1.40% or 0.09 points to end at 6.21 and UniCredit SpA (BIT: CRDI ) was up 1.31% or 0.50 points to 38.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Moncler SpA (BIT: MONC ), which fell 1.56% or 0.80 points to trade at 50.54 at the close. Assicurazioni Generali SpA (BIT: GASI ) declined 1.23% or 0.34 points to end at 27.31 and Hera (BIT: HRA ) was down 1.18% or 0.04 points to 3.36.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 254 to 231 and 49 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.61% or 0.43 to $70.51 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.04% or 0.76 to hit $73.95 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.38% or 10.24 to trade at $2,651.76 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.82.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 106.86.
