Belgium stocks higher at close of trade; BEL 20 up 0.59%

Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology , Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.59%.

The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Melexis NV (EBR: MLXS ), which rose 6.07% or 3.35 points to trade at 58.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Syensqo SA (EBR: SYENS ) added 4.75% or 3.25 points to end at 71.72 and Umicore SA (EBR: UMI ) was up 3.07% or 0.31 points to 10.40 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR: WDPP ), which fell 2.67% or 0.50 points to trade at 18.24 at the close. Elia (EBR: ELI ) declined 1.83% or 1.40 points to end at 74.90 and Cofinimmo SA (EBR: COFB ) was down 1.53% or 0.85 points to 54.80.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 57 to 43 and 8 ended unchanged.

Shares in Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR: WDPP ) fell to 3-years lows; falling 2.67% or 0.50 to 18.24.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.12% or 3.11 to $2,651.59 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.22% or 0.16 to hit $74.12 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.24% or 0.18 to trade at $76.69 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.79% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.65% at 108.09.
