Brazil stocks lower at close of trade; Bovespa down 0.30%

Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Materials , Industrials and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.30%.

The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Azul SA Pref (BVMF: AZUL4 ), which rose 6.98% or 0.30 points to trade at 4.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Cvc Brasil ON (BVMF: CVCB3 ) added 6.36% or 0.11 points to end at 1.84 and LWSA SA (BVMF: LWSA3 ) was up 5.66% or 0.18 points to 3.36 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Raia Drogasil SA (BVMF: RADL3 ), which fell 4.52% or 0.99 points to trade at 20.91 at the close. Brava Energia SA (BVMF: BRAV3 ) declined 4.13% or 1.02 points to end at 23.70 and Minerva SA/Brazil (BVMF: BEEF3 ) was down 3.42% or 0.17 points to 4.80.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 563 to 389 and 52 ended unchanged.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 2.52% to 27.45 a new 3-months low.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.23% or 6.44 to $2,765.64 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.58% or 0.44 to hit $75.39 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract rose 4.56% or 14.95 to trade at $342.75 .

USD/BRL was down 1.37% to 5.94, while EUR/BRL fell 1.48% to 6.19.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 108.04.
