Mexico stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC up 0.46%

Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.46% to hit a new 1-month high.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV: MEGACPO ), which rose 5.20% or 1.94 points to trade at 39.22 at the close. Meanwhile, Coca-Cola Femsa SAB de CV (BMV: KOFUBL ) added 3.83% or 5.94 points to end at 160.87 and Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV: AC ) was up 3.29% or 6.07 points to 190.79 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV: PEOLES ), which fell 5.82% or 17.11 points to trade at 277.09 at the close. Becle SA (BMV: CUERVO ) declined 2.21% or 0.42 points to end at 18.56 and Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV: TLEVISACPO ) was down 2.17% or 0.16 points to 7.23.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 165 to 76 and 11 ended unchanged.

Shares in Becle SA (BMV: CUERVO ) fell to all time lows; down 2.21% or 0.42 to 18.56.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.21% or 33.94 to $2,772.66 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.08% or 1.55 to hit $73.11 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.86% or 1.44 to trade at $76.11 a barrel.

USD/MXN was up 2.03% to 20.67, while EUR/MXN rose 1.99% to 21.68.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 107.15.
