Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate , Building & Construction and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 1.47%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ArcelorMittal SA (BME: MTS ), which rose 10.44% or 2.85 points to trade at 30.15 at the close. Meanwhile, ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (BME: ACS ) added 7.11% or 3.65 points to end at 55.00 and Bankinter (BME: BKT ) was up 6.01% or 0.56 points to 9.92 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cellnex Telecom SA (BME: CLNX ), which fell 4.44% or 1.55 points to trade at 33.35 at the close. Inmobiliaria Colonial SA (BME: COL ) declined 3.34% or 0.19 points to end at 5.36 and Iberdrola (BME: IBE ) was down 1.86% or 0.26 points to 13.48.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 116 to 73 and 28 ended unchanged.
Shares in ArcelorMittal SA (BME: MTS ) rose to 52-week highs; up 10.44% or 2.85 to 30.15. Shares in ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (BME: ACS ) rose to all time highs; up 7.11% or 3.65 to 55.00. Shares in Bankinter (BME: BKT ) rose to all time highs; gaining 6.01% or 0.56 to 9.92.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.39% or 11.49 to $2,932.09 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 4.18% or 2.85 to hit $65.41 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 3.55% or 2.52 to trade at $68.52 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.48% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP rose 0.88% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.24% at 104.38.
