Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Real Estate , Telecoms and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.50% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS: MT ), which rose 10.47% or 2.86 points to trade at 30.17 at the close. Meanwhile, Randstad NV (AS: RAND ) added 5.62% or 2.16 points to end at 40.60 and Akzo Nobel NV (AS: AKZO ) was up 4.64% or 2.66 points to 59.98 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were DSM Firmenich AG (AS: DSFIR ), which fell 3.87% or 3.96 points to trade at 98.34 at the close. IMCD NV (AS: IMCD ) declined 3.24% or 4.60 points to end at 137.35 and Relx PLC (AS: REL ) was down 3.12% or 1.44 points to 44.76.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 54 to 49 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in ArcelorMittal SA (AS: MT ) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 10.47% or 2.86 to 30.17.
The AEX Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 4.13% or 2.82 to $65.44 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 3.52% or 2.50 to hit $68.54 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.39% or 11.31 to trade at $2,931.91 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.43% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP rose 0.85% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.21% at 104.41.
