Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials , Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.82%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore SA (EBR: UMI ), which rose 6.58% or 0.55 points to trade at 8.91 at the close. Meanwhile, Syensqo SA (EBR: SYENS ) added 5.06% or 3.40 points to end at 70.65 and Azelis Corporate Services NV (EBR: AZE ) was up 4.80% or 0.84 points to 18.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR: WDPP ), which fell 3.95% or 0.82 points to trade at 19.96 at the close. Cofinimmo SA (EBR: COFB ) declined 3.61% or 2.15 points to end at 57.45 and Aedifica (EBR: AOO ) was down 3.57% or 2.20 points to 59.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 57 to 37 and 13 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.40% or 11.61 to $2,932.21 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 4.35% or 2.97 to hit $65.29 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 3.66% or 2.60 to trade at $68.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.43% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP rose 0.83% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.22% at 104.39.
