Finland stocks higher at close of trade; OMX Helsinki 25 up 1.36%

Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials , Oil & Gas and Financials sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 1.36%.

The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Metso Oyj (HE: METSO ), which rose 5.98% or 0.61 points to trade at 10.81 at the close. Meanwhile, Konecranes ABP (HE: KCRA ) added 4.82% or 3.20 points to end at 69.65 and Valmet Oyj (HE: VALMT ) was up 4.49% or 1.17 points to 27.25 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Kojamo (HE: KOJAMO ), which fell 3.59% or 0.33 points to trade at 8.88 at the close. Orion Oyj B (HE: ORNBV ) declined 2.04% or 1.14 points to end at 54.64 and KONE Oyj (HE: KNEBV ) was down 1.67% or 0.92 points to 54.08.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 122 to 50 and 17 ended unchanged.

Brent oil for May delivery was down 3.49% or 2.48 to $68.56 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 4.12% or 2.81 to hit $65.45 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.47% or 13.66 to trade at $2,934.26 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was up 1.37% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP rose 0.81% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.16% at 104.46.
