Mexico stocks lower at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC down 0.13%

Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 0.13%.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV: PEOLES ), which rose 4.73% or 16.18 points to trade at 358.44 at the close. Meanwhile, Becle SA (BMV: CUERVO ) added 3.55% or 0.67 points to end at 19.53 and Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV: ORBIA ) was up 3.50% or 0.54 points to 15.96 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Regional SAB de CV (BMV: RA ), which fell 5.58% or 7.67 points to trade at 129.80 at the close. Cemex SAB de CV (BMV: CEMEXCPO ) declined 4.33% or 0.56 points to end at 12.36 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (BMV: OMAB ) was down 3.29% or 6.43 points to 189.15.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 124 to 114 and 8 ended unchanged.

Shares in Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV: PEOLES ) rose to 3-years highs; up 4.73% or 16.18 to 358.44.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.25% or 7.31 to $2,919.29 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.05% or 0.70 to hit $67.06 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.30% or 0.90 to trade at $70.36 a barrel.

USD/MXN was down 0.15% to 20.25, while EUR/MXN rose 0.40% to 21.95.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 103.81.
