Brazil stocks higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 1.36%

Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumption , Real Estate and Public Utilities sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 1.36%.

The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Brava Energia SA (BVMF: BRAV3 ), which rose 10.82% or 1.74 points to trade at 17.82 at the close. Meanwhile, Magazine Luiza SA (BVMF: MGLU3 ) added 10.55% or 0.75 points to end at 7.86 and Marcopolo SA (BVMF: POMO4 ) was up 6.18% or 0.42 points to 7.22 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Totvs SA (BVMF: TOTS3 ), which fell 1.93% or 0.67 points to trade at 34.12 at the close. Embraer SA (BVMF: EMBR3 ) declined 1.39% or 1.04 points to end at 73.68 and Hypera SA (BVMF: HYPE3 ) was down 0.66% or 0.13 points to 19.54.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 685 to 285 and 46 ended unchanged.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.33% to 30.22.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.26% or 7.56 to $2,919.04 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.07% or 0.71 to hit $67.07 a barrel, while the May US coffee C contract rose 0.17% or 0.65 to trade at $387.80 .

USD/BRL was up 0.46% to 5.79, while EUR/BRL rose 0.88% to 6.27.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 103.81.
