Russia stocks lower at close of trade; MOEX Russia Index down 0.10%

Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms , Power and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index declined 0.10%.

The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were TATNEFT n.a. V.D. Shashin (MCX: TATN ), which rose 1.62% or 11.10 points to trade at 694.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank PAO (MCX: CBOM ) added 1.60% or 0.16 points to end at 10.11 and ADS Ozon Holdings PLC ORD SHS (MCX: OZONDR ) was up 1.51% or 60.00 points to 4,024.50 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were AK ALROSA PJSC (MCX: ALRS ), which fell 2.92% or 1.79 points to trade at 59.51 at the close. PIK SHb PJSC (MCX: PIKK ) declined 2.65% or 17.30 points to end at 634.80 and Rostelekom PJSC (MCX: RTKM ) was down 2.08% or 1.48 points to 69.71.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 148 to 91 and 15 ended unchanged.

The Russian Volatility Index – RVI , which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was up 8.94% to 51.54 a new 3-months high.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.81% or 23.40 to $2,922.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.89% or 0.59 to hit $66.62 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.07% or 0.05 to trade at $69.92 a barrel.

USD/RUB was down 0.01% to 85.62, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 93.48.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.58% at 103.36.
