France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 1.31%

Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology , Basic Materials and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 1.31% to hit a new 1-month low, while the SBF 120 index lost 1.30%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Schneider Electric SE (EPA: SCHN ), which rose 1.67% or 3.65 points to trade at 222.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Renault SA (EPA: RENA ) added 1.12% or 0.53 points to end at 47.73 and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA: URW ) was up 0.43% or 0.32 points to 74.86 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Stellantis NV (EPA: STLAM ), which fell 5.30% or 0.63 points to trade at 11.32 at the close. Accor SA (EPA: ACCP ) declined 4.25% or 1.95 points to end at 43.98 and Capgemini SE (EPA: CAPP ) was down 3.83% or 5.85 points to 146.95.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Emeis SA (EPA: EMEIS ) which rose 4.93% to 11.92, Clariane SE (EPA: CLARI ) which was up 4.06% to settle at 3.69 and Solutions 30 SE (EPA: S30 ) which gained 3.80% to close at 1.72.

The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA: ATOS ) which was unchanged 13.95% to 0.00 in late trade, Air France KLM SA (EPA: AIRF ) which lost 9.27% to settle at 10.37 and Valeo SA (EPA: VLOF ) which was down 6.40% to 10.02 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 349 to 138 and 82 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.82% or 23.79 to $2,923.19 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.38% or 0.25 to hit $66.28 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.49% or 0.34 to trade at $69.62 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.84% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.42% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.60% at 103.33.
