Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods , Consumer Services and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 1.48% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Elia (EBR: ELI ), which rose 1.15% or 0.90 points to trade at 78.85 at the close. Meanwhile, Cofinimmo SA (EBR: COFB ) added 0.08% or 0.05 points to end at 60.20 and UCB SA (EBR: UCB ) was down 0.03% or 0.05 points to 169.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Solvay SA (EBR: SOLB ), which fell 3.77% or 1.34 points to trade at 34.23 at the close. Ackermans & Van Haaren NV (EBR: ACKB ) declined 2.75% or 5.40 points to end at 190.70 and Umicore SA (EBR: UMI ) was down 2.72% or 0.24 points to 8.57.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 62 to 34 and 13 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.78% or 22.51 to $2,921.91 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.38% or 0.25 to hit $66.28 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.48% or 0.33 to trade at $69.61 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.85% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.43% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.60% at 103.32.
