Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking , Construction and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.31% to hit a new 5-year high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Ekter (AT: EKTr ), which rose 4.00% or 0.08 points to trade at 2.08 at the close. Meanwhile, National Bank of Greece SA (AT: NBGr ) added 2.90% or 0.28 points to end at 10.09 and Profile Syst (AT: PRFr ) was up 2.82% or 0.14 points to 5.11 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Coca Cola HBC AG (AT: EEEr ), which fell 2.71% or 1.12 points to trade at 40.22 at the close. Holding Company ADMIE IPTO SA (AT: ADMr ) declined 2.26% or 0.06 points to end at 2.60 and Gr Sarantis SA (AT: SRSr ) was down 2.15% or 0.28 points to 12.74.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 73 to 50 and 20 ended unchanged.
Shares in National Bank of Greece SA (AT: NBGr ) rose to 5-year highs; up 2.90% or 0.28 to 10.09.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 1.40% or 41.34 to $2,988.14 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.29% or 0.87 to hit $66.81 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.11% or 0.79 to trade at $70.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.25% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 103.76.
