Turkey stocks higher at close of trade; BIST 100 up 1.39%

Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Insurance , Textile & Leather and Sports sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.39% to hit a new 6-months high.

The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were LDR Turizm AS (IS: LIDER ), which rose 8.46% or 13.70 points to trade at 175.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Sok Marketler (IS: SOKM ) added 8.13% or 3.20 points to end at 42.54 and Turkiye Sigorta AS (IS: TURSG ) was up 7.23% or 1.21 points to 17.94 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Turkiye Sise ve Cam Fabrikalari AS (IS: SISE ), which fell 0.84% or 0.34 points to trade at 40.10 at the close. Arcelik AS (IS: ARCLK ) declined 0.34% or 0.50 points to end at 147.50 and Turkiye Vakiflar Bankasi TAO (IS: VAKBN ) was down 0.22% or 0.06 points to 27.50.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 487 to 97 and 9 ended unchanged.

Shares in LDR Turizm AS (IS: LIDER ) rose to all time highs; up 8.46% or 13.70 to 175.60.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 1.31% or 38.71 to $2,985.51 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.66% or 0.45 to hit $67.23 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.58% or 0.41 to trade at $70.54 a barrel.

USD/TRY was up 0.47% to 36.61, while EUR/TRY rose 0.42% to 39.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 103.79.
