Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms , Oil & Gas and Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index added 2.34%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were AFK Sistema PJSC (MCX: AFKS ), which rose 3.58% or 0.65 points to trade at 18.81 at the close. Meanwhile, Rostelekom PJSC (MCX: RTKM ) added 2.39% or 1.63 points to end at 69.85 and Magnit PJSC (MCX: MGNT ) was up 1.95% or 94.00 points to 4,924.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Severstal PJSC (MCX: CHMF ), which fell 1.15% or 15.20 points to trade at 1,301.00 at the close. MMC NORILSK NICKEL PJSC (MCX: GMKN ) declined 1.03% or 1.40 points to end at 130.50 and PhosAgro PJSC (MCX: PHOR ) was down 0.93% or 61.00 points to 6,531.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 211 to 34 and 8 ended unchanged.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI , which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 5.39% to 46.53.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.08% or 2.30 to $2,993.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.96% or 0.64 to hit $67.19 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.04% or 0.73 to trade at $70.61 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.85% to 85.51, while EUR/RUB rose 0.02% to 93.03.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 103.72.
