Investing.com – U.S. stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology , Oil & Gas and Financials sectors led shares higher.

At the close in NYSE, the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 1.65%, while the S&P 500 index added 2.12%, and the NASDAQ Composite index added 2.61%.

The best performers of the session on the Dow Jones Industrial Average were NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ: NVDA ), which rose 5.27% or 6.09 points to trade at 121.67 at the close. Meanwhile, American Express Company (NYSE: AXP ) added 3.59% or 9.20 points to end at 265.63 and JPMorgan Chase & Co (NYSE: JPM ) was up 3.22% or 7.25 points to 232.44 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Nike Inc (NYSE: NKE ), which fell 1.35% or 0.98 points to trade at 71.66 at the close. Coca-Cola Co (NYSE: KO ) declined 0.66% or 0.46 points to end at 69.16 and Procter & Gamble Company (NYSE: PG ) was down 0.37% or 0.62 points to 167.97.

The top performers on the S&P 500 were Ulta Beauty Inc (NASDAQ: ULTA ) which rose 13.68% to 357.48, Crown Castle International Corp (NYSE: CCI ) which was up 10.37% to settle at 103.22 and Palantir Technologies Inc (NASDAQ: PLTR ) which gained 8.31% to close at 86.24.

The worst performers were Abbott Laboratories (NYSE: ABT ) which was down 2.45% to 126.71 in late trade, Dollar Tree Inc (NASDAQ: DLTR ) which lost 2.18% to settle at 64.56 and Bristol-Myers Squibb Company (NYSE: BMY ) which was down 2.11% to 59.01 at the close.

The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were NanoVibronix Inc (NASDAQ: NAOV ) which rose 819.51% to 2.21, Radius Recycling Inc (NASDAQ: RDUS ) which was up 103.59% to settle at 27.81 and Bon Natural Life Ltd (NASDAQ: BON ) which gained 95.73% to close at 1.44.

The worst performers were CURRENC Group Inc (NASDAQ: CURR ) which was down 41.33% to 2.03 in late trade, Aditx Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ: ADTX ) which lost 39.82% to settle at 0.02 and Hepion Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ: HEPA ) which was down 39.15% to 0.02 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the New York Stock Exchange by 2234 to 544 and 62 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 2446 rose and 845 declined, while 125 ended unchanged.

Shares in NanoVibronix Inc (NASDAQ: NAOV ) rose to all time lows; gaining 819.51% or 1.97 to 2.21. Shares in Radius Recycling Inc (NASDAQ: RDUS ) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 103.59% or 14.15 to 27.81. Shares in Aditx Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ: ADTX ) fell to all time lows; down 39.82% or 0.01 to 0.02. Shares in Hepion Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ: HEPA ) fell to all time lows; losing 39.15% or 0.02 to 0.02.

The CBOE Volatility Index , which measures the implied volatility of S&P 500 options, was down 11.72% to 21.77.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.03% or 1.04 to $2,992.34 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.96% or 0.64 to hit $67.19 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.96% or 0.67 to trade at $70.55 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.29% to 1.09, while USD/JPY rose 0.56% to 148.64.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 103.69.
