Portugal stocks higher at close of trade; PSI up 0.73%

Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials , Industrials and Technology sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI added 0.73%.

The best performers of the session on the PSI were Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI: BCP ), which rose 4.00% or 0.02 points to trade at 0.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI: MOTA ) added 3.55% or 0.11 points to end at 3.21 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI: CTT ) was up 2.30% or 0.16 points to 7.12 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI: JMT ), which fell 1.86% or 0.37 points to trade at 19.53 at the close. EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI: EDP ) declined 1.61% or 0.05 points to end at 3.05 and Ibersol SGPS (ELI: IBS ) was down 1.58% or 0.14 points to 8.72.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 15 to 10 and 4 ended unchanged.

Shares in CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI: CTT ) rose to 5-year highs; up 2.30% or 0.16 to 7.12.

Brent oil for May delivery was up 1.06% or 0.74 to $70.62 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.10% or 0.73 to hit $67.28 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.28% or 8.35 to trade at $2,999.65 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.28% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.42% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 103.69.
