Belgium stocks higher at close of trade; BEL 20 up 1.05%

Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods , Technology and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 1.05%.

The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Syensqo SA (EBR: SYENS ), which rose 3.47% or 2.30 points to trade at 68.59 at the close. Meanwhile, Argen-X (EBR: ARGX ) added 3.03% or 16.20 points to end at 551.00 and D’Ieteren NV (EBR: IETB ) was up 2.44% or 3.70 points to 155.30 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were UCB SA (EBR: UCB ), which fell 0.42% or 0.75 points to trade at 179.85 at the close. Umicore SA (EBR: UMI ) declined 0.34% or 0.03 points to end at 8.86 and Groep Brussel Lambert NV (EBR: GBLB ) was down 0.15% or 0.10 points to 67.70.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 68 to 31 and 6 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.28% or 8.41 to $2,999.71 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.08% or 0.72 to hit $67.27 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.04% or 0.73 to trade at $70.61 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.27% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.42% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 103.69.
