Greece stocks lower at close of trade; Athens General Composite down 0.34%

Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Banking , Telecoms and Household sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 0.34%.

The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Optima bank SA (AT: OPTIMAr ), which rose 4.40% or 0.68 points to trade at 16.12 at the close. Meanwhile, Greek Organisation of Football Prognostics SA (AT: OPAr ) added 3.64% or 0.64 points to end at 18.24 and Intracom Holdings SA (AT: INRr ) was up 1.89% or 0.06 points to 3.24 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Piraeus Port (AT: OLPr ), which fell 4.60% or 1.55 points to trade at 32.15 at the close. Crete Plastics SA (AT: PLAKR ) declined 3.33% or 0.50 points to end at 14.50 and Gr Sarantis SA (AT: SRSr ) was down 3.28% or 0.42 points to 12.38.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 81 to 42 and 17 ended unchanged.

Shares in Optima bank SA (AT: OPTIMAr ) rose to all time highs; gaining 4.40% or 0.68 to 16.12. Shares in Greek Organisation of Football Prognostics SA (AT: OPAr ) rose to 5-year highs; up 3.64% or 0.64 to 18.24.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.92% or 28.09 to $3,015.71 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.15% or 0.10 to hit $67.97 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.32% or 0.23 to trade at $71.77 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.37% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 103.83.
