Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Mining , Telecoms and Power sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index fell 0.92%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were PhosAgro PJSC (MCX: PHOR ), which rose 0.85% or 56.00 points to trade at 6,633.00 at the close. Meanwhile, TATNEFT n.a. V.D. Shashin (MCX: TATN ) added 0.77% or 5.30 points to end at 693.90 and LUKOIL PJSC (MCX: LKOH ) was up 0.75% or 55.00 points to 7,348.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PIK SHb PJSC (MCX: PIKK ), which fell 5.80% or 36.30 points to trade at 590.00 at the close. AFK Sistema PJSC (MCX: AFKS ) declined 3.25% or 0.63 points to end at 18.74 and VK Company Ltd (MCX: VKCO ) was down 2.19% or 6.60 points to 294.90.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 202 to 36 and 15 ended unchanged.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI , which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was up 2.78% to 43.21.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.51% or 15.60 to $3,028.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.35% or 0.24 to hit $67.94 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.17% or 0.12 to trade at $72.12 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.59% to 84.43, while EUR/RUB rose 0.02% to 91.39.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 103.81.
