FTSE bounces back ahead of budget and Wall Street pushes higher
Oct 28, 2024

The FTSE 100 ( ^FTSE ) has managed to bounce back this Monday and finish in the green following a weak start after data showed that business confidence has fallen to a four-month low in October as the prospect of tax increases in Wednesday's budget weighs on sentiment.

Adding to the negative mood, prime minister Keir Starmer warned in a speech of the "harsh light" of reality ahead of budget that would include tax rises.
